The opening ceremony of the Caritas Food City Complex in the Diocese of Trincomalee was held on May 22nd.

 

This event was organized by Rev. Fr. Paul Robinson, the vicar general and the director of Caritas EHED of the Diocese of Trincomalee, and Rt. Rev. Dr. Noel Emmanuel, the bishop of the Diocese of Trincomalee, blessed and opened the complex.

 

The purpose of this complex is promoting the livelihood of poor people and village-based production.

 

This complex includes a food corner, a food city, and a guest villa, along with services such as marketing of village-based products, a voucher system for needy people, door delivery, a silence saving strategy, and free sapling distribution.
