The annual feast of St. Anthony’s Shrine in Kachchathivu was celebrated on March 15th, led by Rev. Fr. Pathinathan, Parish Priest of Delft.
The celebrations began on March 14th with the hoisting of the flag, followed by Eucharistic services that included the recitation of the Holy Rosary, the Way of the Cross, and the Holy Mass.
On March 15th, the Feast Mass was solemnly celebrated with Rt. Rev. Dr. Lourthu Anand, Bishop of the Sivagangai Diocese in India, presided over the service. The event drew a large crowd of over 9,000 devotees from Sri Lanka and India.
Notable attendees included Rev. Fr. Jebaratnam, Vicar General of the Jaffna Diocese, the Consulate General of India in Jaffna Mr. Sai Murali , the Government Agent of Jaffna Mr. Piiratheepan, Government officials, Ministers senior naval officers, clergy, and nuns.
