The statue of the former Bishop of the Diocese of Mannar, the late Rt. Rev. Dr. Rayappu Joseph, erected in JosephVaz Nagar, Mannar, was unveiled on the 7th of January.
The event, presided over by the Parish Priest of JosephVaz Nagar, Rev. Fr. Rajanayagam, was graced by the presence of the Bishop of Mannar, Rt. Rev. Dr.Emmanuel Fernando, who unveiled the statue. In attendance were Member of Parliament of the Vanni District, Mr. Selvam Adikalanathan, relatives of Bishop Rayappu Joseph, several priests, nuns, and parishioners.
