The St. Philip Neri Church in Chempiyanpattu celebrated the completion of its newly constructed dome with an inauguration ceremony and the blessing of a new altar on August 7th
The event, organized by Rev. Fr. Duke Vincent, was attended by Rt. Rev. Dr. Justin Gnanapragasam, Bishop of the Jaffna Diocese, who blessed the new dome and altar and presided over the Holy Mass.
In addition to Bishop Gnanapragasam, Rev. Fr. Jebaratnam, the Vicar General of the Jaffna Diocese, several priests, and parishioners were present.
The day’s events included a friendly football match between St. Philip Neri’s and Maruthankerny Ganesanantha Sports Clubs, followed by an evening cultural drama called “Koothu,” which portrayed the life of St. Joseph Vaz.
